In January of 1964, the first Beechcraft, the model 65-90, made its first flight. Several years later, a pressurized model was developed and was introduced as the King Air 90. In 1984, the King Air C90A was introduced as the next installment in the King Air line. When compared to its predecessors, this model incorporated several updated features, such as an improved cowling design, an updated three bus electrical system, hydraulically actuated landing gear and a Collins Pro Line avionics suite. After a successful production run, the King Air C90A was succeeded by the King Air C90B

The cabin layout is typically composed of a six or seven passenger executive seating arrangement, with four-place club seating, a belted lavatory seat, and one seat located across from the airstair door.
